“Down the memory lane are thoughts so sweet, Down the memory lane with wonderful people we meet’ A warm and hearty programme to bid adieu to our teachers – Mrs. Anita Sud, Mrs. Satinder, Mrs. Brij and Mrs. Kanwaljit Saini a programme was held in the school. These teachers had completed nearly 28 years of their service with honour and enthusiasm. Poems were recited in their honour, students spoke high of them and singing and dancing were a part of the farewell programme organized by Fr. Thomas Chakkungak(Principal), Fr. Johnson(Administrator). They were honoured with shawls, flowers and garlands. It was an overwhelming moment but we know that we should not be sad it ended by happy that it happened.

Investiture Ceremony 2019-20
The investiture ceremony of the captains, vice-captains, head boys (junior and senior) and head girls (junior and senior) for the session 2019-20 was held on 26th March, 2019 under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Thomas Chakkungal, the Principal. On the beat of the drum, in front of the school and in a very formal way the incharges of the previous year 2018-19 handed over the ‘Badge and Sash’ to the new officiating captains. They took the oath of office as captains in front of the assembly. The Principal thanked the previous year incharges and made the students aware of their duties. He said that the captains should set an example to the whole school and should carry on their work efficiently and diligently.
“Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high.. ….Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.” May you soar high in the realm of freedom…… HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY TO ALL THE CARMELIANS.

Prabhleen Singh of class Xth has won gold medal in School State Boxing Championship at Bathinda and gold in 2nd Junior Boxing Championship at Talwandi Sahib (Sangrur). He went to play National at Assam(Guwahati) and National at Chandigarh University.Many congratulations.
Pre-Registration of Class Nursery for the academic session 2019-20
Mount Carmel Senior Secondary School, Kakkon, Hoshiarpur Admission to Nursery Classes for the Academic Year 2019- 20 will be done on the basis of instructions given below: 1. Pre-registration forms will be available at the School Office Counter from 09.30 am to 11.30 am on Friday, 7th of December, 2018 for Siblings i.e. for Parents whose wards are already studying in this School. These parents are requested to register on this day itself as all the remaining seats will be made available to others on the next day. 2. Pre-registration forms will be available at the School Office Counter from 09.30 am to 11.30 am on Saturday, 8th of December, 2018 for all other parents of aspiring students. 3. Only one form per candidate will be accepted. Candidature of any child for whom more than one form is detected at any stage of the admission process will be summarily cancelled and no re-presentation will be entertained thereafter. 4. A Pre-Registration for is liable to be rejected in case of incomplete or incorrect information and no re-presentation will be entertained thereafter. 5. Submission of Pre-Registration is not a guarantee of Admission. Admission is assured and confirmed only after the interactive session with Parents. 5. Age Eligibility: The Minimum age to be admitted to Nursery Class is 3 (Three) years and maximum is 3 and a half years (Three years and six months) on 31st March, 2019. There will be no relaxation whatsoever in age criterion. 6. Date of Birth Certificate: Date of Birth Certificate issued by the office of the Registrar will be the only acceptable proof for the date of Birth. Hospital report, affidavits, or similar legal documents will not be entertained. 7. There are no seats available for Classes from LKG to Class X and therefore no admissions to these classes.
Annual Day Celebration 2018
The annual function of Mount Carmel School Hoshiarpur was an elaborate spectacle. It was divided into two days. On 20th November under the name "UMANG" the students from nursery to fourth standard participated to show their exclusive talents on stage to a huge audience of 2000. Reverend Father Abraham, general manager Mount Carmel Institutions was the chief guest of the day. He addressed the parents and advised them to appreciate their children and encourage them to bring out their best. He honoured the rank holders from nursery to third with trophies and certificates. It was an extraordinary show with the tiny tots tapping their feet to songs. On 21st November under the name "prajjwalan" the students from fifth standard to +2 participated extravagantly in front of a gathering of around 2200. Mr. Gautam Jain, Assistant Commissioner Hoshiarpur, presided over the function and awarded the ICSE and ISC toppers with pure gold and pure silver medals. The rank holders of the three categories Medical, Non- medical and Commerce accompanied by their parents were honoured with trophies and bouquets. The rank holders from 4th to +1 were also applauded and appreciated with trophies. "Incredible India" was the theme of the day which was highly acclaimed by the chief guest. Skits and choreographies based on human values took away the show, dances of various states kept the audience jaw dropped for 2 hours. Gidda and Bhangra were the show stopper items. The program on both days concluded with the national anthem on the band of the school.
Diwali Celebration 2018
Proud Moments Diwali Celebration Today under the benign guidance of Rev. Fr. Principal, the festival of lights i.e. Diwali is celebrated in the school campus with great pomp & show in which the Carmelians exposed their hidden talents in singing, mono-acting, dancing and speeches. Mrs. Jai Devi highlighted in her speech the importance of Diwali and the need of celebrating Diwali in its real spirit and meaning. The surroundings were lit up with lights & balloons. Rev. Fr. Principal delivered a very motivating speech to be emulated by one & all. At the end, sweets were distributed among all the children. We wish all our parents, students, teachers and well-wishers A Very Happy and Prosperous Diwali.
