Prabhleen Singh

Prabhleen Singh of class Xth has won gold medal in School State Boxing Championship at Bathinda and gold in 2nd Junior Boxing Championship at Talwandi Sahib (Sangrur). He went to play National at Assam(Guwahati) and National at Chandigarh University.Many congratulations.


Pre-Registration of Class Nursery for the academic session 2019-20

Mount Carmel Senior Secondary School, Kakkon, Hoshiarpur Admission to Nursery Classes for the Academic Year 2019- 20 will be done on the basis of instructions given below: 1. Pre-registration forms will be available at the School Office Counter from 09.30 am to 11.30 am on Friday, 7th of December, 2018 for Siblings i.e. for Parents whose wards are already studying in this School. These parents are requested to register on this day itself as all the remaining seats will be made available to others on the next day. 2. Pre-registration forms will be available at the School Office Counter from 09.30 am to 11.30 am on Saturday, 8th of December, 2018 for all other parents of aspiring students. 3. Only one form per candidate will be accepted. Candidature of any child for whom more than one form is detected at any stage of the admission process will be summarily cancelled and no re-presentation will be entertained thereafter. 4. A Pre-Registration for is liable to be rejected in case of incomplete or incorrect information and no re-presentation will be entertained thereafter. 5. Submission of Pre-Registration is not a guarantee of Admission. Admission is assured and confirmed only after the interactive session with Parents. 5. Age Eligibility: The Minimum age to be admitted to Nursery Class is 3 (Three) years and maximum is 3 and a half years (Three years and six months) on 31st March, 2019. There will be no relaxation whatsoever in age criterion. 6. Date of Birth Certificate: Date of Birth Certificate issued by the office of the Registrar will be the only acceptable proof for the date of Birth. Hospital report, affidavits, or similar legal documents will not be entertained. 7. There are no seats available for Classes from LKG to Class X and therefore no admissions to these classes.



Annual Day Celebration 2018

The annual function of Mount Carmel School Hoshiarpur was an elaborate spectacle. It was divided into two days. On 20th November under the name "UMANG" the students from nursery to fourth standard participated to show their exclusive talents on stage to a huge audience of 2000. Reverend Father Abraham, general manager Mount Carmel Institutions was the chief guest of the day. He addressed the parents and advised them to appreciate their children and encourage them to bring out their best. He honoured the rank holders from nursery to third with trophies and certificates. It was an extraordinary show with the tiny tots tapping their feet to songs. On 21st November under the name "prajjwalan" the students from fifth standard to +2 participated extravagantly in front of a gathering of around 2200. Mr. Gautam Jain, Assistant Commissioner Hoshiarpur, presided over the function and awarded the ICSE and ISC toppers with pure gold and pure silver medals. The rank holders of the three categories Medical, Non- medical and Commerce accompanied by their parents were honoured with trophies and bouquets. The rank holders from 4th to +1 were also applauded and appreciated with trophies. "Incredible India" was the theme of the day which was highly acclaimed by the chief guest. Skits and choreographies based on human values took away the show, dances of various states kept the audience jaw dropped for 2 hours. Gidda and Bhangra were the show stopper items. The program on both days concluded with the national anthem on the band of the school.



Diwali Celebration 2018

Proud Moments Diwali Celebration Today under the benign guidance of Rev. Fr. Principal, the festival of lights i.e. Diwali is celebrated in the school campus with great pomp & show in which the Carmelians exposed their hidden talents in singing, mono-acting, dancing and speeches. Mrs. Jai Devi highlighted in her speech the importance of Diwali and the need of celebrating Diwali in its real spirit and meaning. The surroundings were lit up with lights & balloons. Rev. Fr. Principal delivered a very motivating speech to be emulated by one & all. At the end, sweets were distributed among all the children. We wish all our parents, students, teachers and well-wishers A Very Happy and Prosperous Diwali.



Inter Mount Carmel Sports & Cultural Meet 2018-19

The IMC Sports & Cultural Meet for the yr. 2018-19 was inaugurated with great extravagance on 2nd Nov. under the dynamic leadership of Rev. Fr. Abraham, GM MCS. It was a two days meet. Rev. Fr. Abraham unfurled the flag, the best athletes of MCS Hsp. ran on the field with Mashal and handed it to the GM who ignited the torch which glowed for 2 days. The GM, Convener of the Meet Rev. Fr. George Vaylil, Rev. Fr. Thomas Chakkungal, Principal MCS Hsp. Rev. Fr. Augustine, Director MCS Hsp. Rev. Fr. Johnson, Rev. Fr. James Manampuram, Rev. Fr. Thomas Vazhakala and Sisters lighted the lamp for the inauguration ceremony. The GM Rev. Fr. Abraham took the salute of the Marchpast in which 11 schools of Mount Carmel participated. The teams were from Jindwari, Bhunga, Gaggal, Una, Balachaur, Garshankar, Palampur, Hoshiarpur, Mehtiana, Muradnagar and Baijnath. There was an air of festivity around, as in the 4 Venues: Solo song, Solo Dance, Duet-songs, Group dances, Speeches, Declamation and Group dances of the categories Sub-juniors, Juniors and Seniors were held. Experts were invited to judge all the cultural items and referees for all the sports and athletics. All the events took place at the prescribed time and went on smoothly. The welcome Dance and Band Display by MCS Hsp. was highly appreciated. On the first day the sub-junior winners trophy was taken by MCS Hsp. and Runner's trophy by MCS Una. On the second day the Juniors trophy was won by MCS Jindwari and the runner's up was MCS Una. The Seniors winner's trophy was bagged by MCS Hoshiarpur and the runners up were MCS Jindwari. The overall trophy was bagged by MCS Jindwari and runners up by MCS Hoshiarpur. After the Prize distribution the Convener Rev. Fr. George Vaylil extended a vote of thanks to all. Amidst the bursting of crackers the flag was lowered with all honours and handed over to Rev. Fr. Abraham, GM MCS. The 2 day function came to an end with the Mount Carmel Anthem and hope to meet next year. We thank our students, parents and teachers for their wholehearted support.

Teacher's Day 2018-19

There was celebration in the school atmosphere as the X std. students took to become the teachers for a day. It was the most awaited day of their life and when they took this duty it was a dream come true for them. They did their duty with utmost perfection. The out going class XII students took the duty of entertaining the teachers with dances and skits, awarding them with gifts, complimenting them with wonderful songs and designating them according to one very special quality they had. The way the +2 students carried the whole function from morning to noon was very touching and mesmerizing. The teachers felt proud of the fruit of their labour. Later on the Principal Rev. Fr. Thomas Chakkungal the Director Rev. Fr. Augustine applauded and praised the students for their efforts. They insisted that teaching was a very noble profession and students must opt for it. As all are born and bred in this soil, we should re-pay it back and not serve any foreign land. The teachers were taken to Jalandhar for a grand treat.



Inter House Cultural Meet 2018

The annual Inter House Cultural Meet was held on 21st August and Major Amit Sareen, Assistant Commissioner was the chief guest of the Cultural Meet. He was warmly welcomed by the school band. In his speech he advised the students to put the society ahead of themselves. Serving the motherland should be the dream of every student according to Major Sareen. Poem recitation, speech, declamation, solo songs, group songs, solo dances, group dances and couple dances took place in the Cultural Meet. The program went on smoothly in accordance with the time and the results were declared on the same day. Reverend Fr. Thomas Chakkungal, in his speech applauded the students and teachers for their commendable work. Reverend Fr. Augustine, Director made the students realize that recreation like singing and dancing should be a part of their life as it breaks the monotony of a routine life. The meet was declared close by the Principal.
